- 査読あり, 英語, ジェンダー研究, お茶の水女子大学, Fears of the Demon Lovers: Female Paranoia in the Demon Lover Stories by Elizabeth Bowen and Shirley Jackson, 中川千帆, This paper examines the concept of paranoia found in two short stories based on the same folk ballad of the demon lover. Some critics read Jackson's "The Daemon Lover" and Elizabeth Bowen's "The Demon Lover" as stories of paranoia, suggesting the strong connection between the fears of demon lovers and the typical paranoiac delusions. However, a close examination of the concept of "female paranoia," referring to psychoanalytic studies as well as clinical literature, reveals the issues of interpretations involved not only in the diagnosing stage but also in the alleged patient's thinking process. "Female paranoia" manifests its symptoms when the alternative interpretations of their lovers' behaviors emerge, forcing the female characters to question heterosexual romance scenarios. I argue that the demon lover stories, a variation of erotomanic delusions, express a critique of the patriarchal society that exposes women to perpetual threats that are represented ambiguously in the form of demon lovers. Jackson's story in particular shows that fears of the demon lover, however supernatural he may appear to be, are in fact of this world. - 基盤研究(C), 2017年04月01日, 2022年03月31日, 17K02546, 家と自己：ゴシックと犯罪小説研究, 中川 千帆, 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業 基盤研究(C), 奈良女子大学, 2210000, 1700000, 510000, 「家と自己」課題は、英米文学においてゴシック研究と犯罪小説の連続性を見ながら、家というテーマに注目したものである。19世紀後半から20世紀前半の英米の作家、「推理小説」の初期作品から黄金時代の作品を中心に、家というテーマがどのように近代的自己の概念と関わっているかを明らかにするとともに、ジェンダーによって家との関わりが大きく違い、したがってゴシック小説だけではなく、推理小説においても女性の被害者・加害者と家の関係が大きく違っていることを分析した。その際には、比較的無名とされていた女性作家も取り上げることになった。, kaken;rm:books_etc

Holmes, William Dean Howells, Hamlin Garland, Edith Wharton等の作家が描いた医療と心霊主義にまつわる作品のなかに、女性の身体と精神がどのように描かれているのかを分析している。当時の流行となった病neurastheniaは、作品中において言葉にできない不安や問題を示す手段として描かれていく。女性の精神性を重視した風潮が、実はどのように女性の身体性の強調に寄与していったかを炙り出した。, kaken

Schaefer; 松藤 薫子; 中川 千帆; 三原 芳秋, 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業 基盤研究(C), お茶の水女子大学, 3810000, 3600000, 210000, 英語の高度なコミュニケーション能力をつけるためには、良質な教材による効率的な学習を長期間にわたって行うことが必要である。しかし、時間数に限りがある大学の英語の授業内でそれを達成することは不可能であるため、自律的な学習が不可欠である。本研究は、学習者が大学に在学する4年間にわたって、語学力や生活パターン等に応じた自律学習の計画を立ててその計画を遂行するために支援を得られるようなシステムと学習環境を構築するための第1段階として、自律型学習支援プログラムのプロトタイプを作成することを目的とした。主な成果は以下の2点である。 1.自律的に語学学習を行う動機付けのためには、学習者が実際に自習を実践して、その意義を実感することが有効であると考え、本研究にかかわる教員が授業の一環として自習を課題とし、自習の指導・支援を行った。いくつかの指導・支援方法を試みた結果、学習者の自律性を尊重しながら、達成可能な目標を設定し、学習者が自分にあった教材を選択できるよう、教材について情報を十分に提供し、学習者間での情報交換を促し、実践を定期的に報告させることが、自習の実践率や学習者の満足度を高めるのに効果的であることがわかった。 2.アンケート調査により判明した学習者の個人差要因(学習者のメディア機器に対する親和性・自律的学習の動機・自習時間・使用したい教材とメディア・学習場所等)の多様性、学習者の語学力のレベルの多様性を視野に入れて、さまざまなメディア・スキル養成・レベルの自律型学習用教材の収集・整備を進め、その情報と教材を利用した学生の感想をデータベース化して学生に提供した。同時に、以前より行っている教員等による個別の自習相談を継続した。 自習用教材の貸し出し数が増加し、英語を必修として履修しない3・4年生のCALL教室やLL教室の利用頻度が上昇したことから、上記の取り組みは有効であったと考えられる。, kaken
